Job summary

Rubicon Consulting is seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Specialist for a 12-month contract based in Suffolk. You will join a specialist team protecting critical national infrastructure and partnering with governments worldwide, delivering secure, scalable infrastructure solutions.

Role focuses on designing and deploying BMS, CMS, and CCTV systems, driving automation via IaC, and maintaining high availability with strong security practices.

Qualifications

• Lead full lifecycle design, build, commissioning and live ops of complex infra systems.
• Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems, CMS and CCTV in critical environments.
• Experience in mission-critical, high-availability settings with emphasis on security.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver next-generation BMS, CMS and CCTV systems.
• Drive automation through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Architecting and delivering next-generation BMS, CMS and CCTV systems
• Driving automation-first infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell)
• Solving complex platform challenges across compute, storage, and networking
• Collaborating with engineers, architects, and operations teams to deliver seamless, end-to-end services
• Enhancing platform security, resilience, and performance at scale
• Championing best practices in incident, change, and problem management
• Creating clear, reusable runbooks and engineering standards

Requirements

• Proven ability to lead the full lifecycle—design, build, commissioning, and live operations—of complex engineering or infrastructure systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of Building Management Systems, Central Monitoring platforms, CCTV, or equivalent critical control environments.
• Experience operating within high-availability, mission-critical environments where resilience, uptime, and security are non-negotiable.
• Deep understanding of physical and system security principles, with the ability to identify, mitigate, and manage operational risk.
• Track record of driving automation and Infrastructure as Code, reducing manual intervention, and improving operational performance at scale.
• Ability to design and integrate complex, multi-vendor systems into cohesive, scalable, and future-ready platforms.
• Ability to translate technical complexity into clear business value and influence stakeholders across engineering, security, and operations.
• Focus on service assurance, proactive monitoring, and continuous optimisation to enhance availability and performance.
