The role supports service availability, business continuity and operational efficiency by providing local hands-on support that cannot always be delivered remotely.Link to strategy: This role supports BT's objective to deliver reliable, efficient and customer-focused technology services by ensuring users have access to responsive local IT support. It contributes to operational excellence, service continuity and colleague productivity, enabling teams to focus on delivering business and customer outcomes.**This job role is based in Cheltenham. Due to security requirements, this role requires you to be located on site during your working hours.****Mon-Fri 37.5.** **DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.**## **What you’ll be doing*** This is a varied role combining hands-on IT support, infrastructure engineering, security improvement and emerging technologies such as automation and private AI, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both operational delivery and shaping future capability.* Providing hands-on IT support for colleagues and corporate services, ensuring critical services remain available and users can work effectively.* Acting as the on-site technical lead for workplace technology, incidents, requests and service improvements.* Driving an automation-first approach through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible and PowerShell.* Supporting and evolving endpoint management platforms, including SCCM and modern device management technologies.* Solving complex infrastructure challenges across compute, storage, networking and cloud platforms.* Improving the organisation's security posture through vulnerability remediation, systems hardening, patching and secure operating practices.## **Essential Skills / Experience*** Incident Management* IT Infrastructure* Decision Making* Troubleshooting* IT Security## **Desirable Skills / Experience****Essential*** Experience providing IT support in an enterprise or corporate environment.* Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across end-user devices and workplace technology.* Experience supporting Windows-based desktops, laptops and mobile devices.* Good understanding of Microsoft applications and services (Office Suite, SCCM).**Desirable*** Experience supporting users within secure or regulated environments.* Knowledge of networking fundamentals and local infrastructure support.* Experience with asset management and hardware deployment activities.* Familiarity with Jira Service Desk or similar IT service management tools.## **Our Package**Tailored benefits make a real difference.
