Infrastructure Support Engineer Quant Trading Firm

Contract

£650 per day, 6 Months, Outside IR35

5 days in the office

Quant Capital is urgently looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our high-profile client.

Our client is a $500 million systematic quant commodity trading fund with excellent recent performance.

The role involves supporting all aspects from desktop to cloud in a trading environment, reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer and Head of Development. Strong communication skills are essential as this role involves collaboration with the trading business.

The environment is similar to Facebook or Google: relaxed, open, with time to think and make the right decisions. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, with an open dress code. Responsibilities:

1. Ensuring seamless operation while setting up a scalable IT platform

• Managing cloud & on-prem infrastructure

• Providing exceptional front-line user support, particularly for the trading desk

• Incident management responsibilities

• Coordinating business continuity planning and testing

Infrastructure Engineers MUST have:

• BSc in computing, mathematics, or a STEM subject
• Experience supporting a trading desk
• Proficiency with Windows
• Basic Linux knowledge
• Experience with Azure
• Managing highly available infrastructure, including infrastructure-as-code
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deliverables in a real-time environment
• Strong communication skills for engaging with senior and executive stakeholders
• Experience managing and selecting external partners
