Your mission

As an Infrastructure Engineer in our Platform Engineering team, you will oversee our on-premise and cloud-based compute, networking, and storage infrastructure. Your responsibilities include implementing new applications, configuring, upgrading, maintaining, optimizing, and providing level 3 support for our infrastructure. A deep understanding of cloud computing, system administration, software development, and CI/CD practices is essential.

What you'll do

• Monitor and administer virtual server infrastructure across multiple locations, based on Linux OS in OpenStack and GCP.
• Maintain monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, AlertManager, and ElasticAPM.
• Manage OS patching, repository maintenance, package releases, and reports using automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure systems are secure and observability is maintained.
• Coordinate with data center engineering teams for hardware processes and maintenance.
• Respond to infrastructure issues, working with external providers to meet SLAs.
• Participate in on-call rotations, conduct root cause analyses, and assist in incident resolution.
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and share knowledge across teams.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding platform and infrastructure matters.

What you'll bring

• At least 3 years of Linux system administration experience in large-scale environments.
• Experience supporting 24/7 infrastructure and enterprise applications.
• Proficiency with public/private clouds and virtualization platforms such as OpenStack, GCP, or AWS.
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible and Terraform, scripting (bash, python).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ElasticAPM.
• Understanding of network protocols and OSI model.
• Familiarity with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
• Experience with enterprise security tools (IDS/IPS, SIEM).
• Ability to troubleshoot system and network issues.
• Strong Active Directory/LDAP management skills.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel within the UK and Europe.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
