Job summary

The Curve Group is seeking an experienced Engineer with strong Microsoft 365 and enterprise infrastructure experience as part of a major transformation programme in financial services.

You will join an established tech environment, take ownership of BAU operations, resolve complex incidents, and contribute to cloud transformation with hands-on management of M365, Intune, Entra ID, and hybrid Exchange.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Azure and Windows infrastructure components.
• Proven ability to automate tasks using PowerShell.

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Engineer with strong Microsoft 365 and enterprise infrastructure experience to join a major transformation programme within a leading financial services organisation.

This is not an Azure-only role. Microsoft 365 is a major part of the environment, so we're looking for someone who has genuinely supported and administered M365 at enterprise scale, alongside strong Azure and Windows infrastructure knowledge.

You’ll be joining an established technology environment where you'll be expected to take ownership of BAU operations, resolve complex incidents, improve resilience and security, and contribute to ongoing cloud transformation.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing 3rd-line operational support across Microsoft 365, Azure and Windows infrastructure
• Supporting and administering Intune, Autopilot, Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA and PIM
• Managing Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange environments, alongside Teams and SharePoint Online
• Supporting Microsoft Defender, security baselines and M365 security/compliance controls
• Managing Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and enterprise PKI
• Supporting Azure infrastructure, networking, monitoring and automation
• Using PowerShell to automate administration, remediation and operational tasks
• Investigating complex incidents, carrying out root-cause analysis and driving permanent fixes
• Supporting monitoring and observability across infrastructure and applications, identifying issues before they become major incidents
• Working with backup, disaster recovery and resilience, including understanding RPO/RTO requirements
• Supporting change through appropriate governance, testing and controlled implementation
• Participating in an on-call/24x7 support environment

We're particularly interested in people who can demonstrate experience of:

• Running Microsoft 365 in a large enterprise environment, rather than simply having used the products
• Designing or implementing Conditional Access policies across complex user/device environments
• Managing privileged access using PIM/JIT access
• Deploying and managing devices through Intune and Autopilot
• Working with enterprise PKI / AD Certificate Services, including certificate templates, issuance, deployment and renewal
• Building and managing complex Group Policy environments
• Using PowerShell to automate repetitive administration or remediate issues at scale
• Implementing monitoring/observability and using logs and telemetry to investigate incidents
• Supporting environments with significant numbers of users, devices, servers or applications
• Working within structured ITIL/change/incident/problem management processes

You’ll need

• Strong knowledge of Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Defender and Conditional Access
• Strong Windows Server / Active Directory / Group Policy knowledge
• Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP and PKI
• Experience working in a large-scale enterprise environment
• Experience handling complex production incidents and operational problems
• Ability to work independently at 3rd-line/senior level
