Job summary

PentenAmio is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer in Tewkesbury (hybrid) to design, build and support secure mobility and communication solutions. You will work across Linux systems, cloud, and automation, from deployment to Level 3 support, ensuring CIS security standards are met.

Required are advanced Linux administration skills, scripting in Bash/Python, Ansible, and experience with AWS, Docker, and VMware. Excellent problem solving and collaboration are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Linux system administration experience with scripting and automation using Ansible.
• Strong networking knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP) and PKI/certificate management.
• Experience with AWS cloud and containerised environments (Docker).
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Grafana/Prometheus/ELK) and version control.
• Experience in secure, air-gapped environments and CI/CD in secure setups.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support secure end-to-end mobility and communication solutions.
• Manage infrastructure, cloud, and automation across deployment lifecycles.
• Provide Level 3 support and documentation for system architectures.
• Maintain CIS security standards and cross-domain security requirements.
• Research new technologies to improve performance and security.

About The Role

As an Infrastrcture Engineer, you will design, build, and support secure end-to-end mobility and communication solutions for customer and internal projects. You'll work on a mix of infrastructure, cloud, and automation technologies, supporting the full lifecycle from deployment to Level 3 support.

Typical Duties Include

• Installing, configuring, and administering Linux-based infrastructure (Ubuntu/RHEL) and virtualised environments (vSphere, vCenter).
• Writing Ansible playbooks and using IaC tools to automate deployment of infrastructure and cloud services.
• Managing secure AWS cloud environments and supporting cross domain solutions.
• Creating and maintaining system architecture documentation and ensuring environments meet CIS security standards.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex system issues in collaboration with support teams.
• Supporting and maintaining infrastructure in secure and air-gapped environments.
• Researching and integrating new technologies to enhance system performance and security.

Skills and Experience

• Advanced Linux system administration with practical experience in scripting (e.g. Bash, Python) and automation using Ansible.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP), PKI/certificate management, and virtualisation (VMware).
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerised environments (Docker).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK) and version control systems.
• Working knowledge of cross domain solutions and operating within secure, air-gapped environments.
• Solid grasp of CI/CD principles and infrastructure as code in secure environments.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills with a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications And Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this position you must:

• 2-5+ years' experience in a Linux or Infrastructure Engineering role.
• Be a British Citizen; and
• Hold or be eligible for NSV - DV (please see the gov.uk for guidance)
