Job summary

Searchability NS&D is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join on-site at Farnborough. You will maintain and secure multi-cloud, multi-classification environments, handle monitoring and incidents, and support continuous improvement in security and compliance.

The role requires MoD DV clearance, British passport, and a full-time on-site presence in Farnborough. A competitive package includes up to £65k DoE plus benefits and a pension contribution.

Responsibilities

New Permanent Opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer with MoD DV Clearance for an exciting Defence SME in Farnborough.

• Farnborough location – full-time on-site
• Must already hold MoD DV Clearance
• Up to £65k DoE plus package - 25 days leave, 15% pension, company bonus
• Experience needed in Windows Server, VMware, Linux, PowerShell

What will the Infrastructure Engineer be doing?

Maintaining, securing, and enhancing multi-classification virtualised environments across public, private, and hybrid cloud systems. The role covers monitoring, incident management, controlled maintenance, and ensuring platforms remain secure and compliant, alongside continuous skills development, stakeholder support, and knowledge sharing to improve performance and team capability.

The Infrastructure Engineer Should Have…

• Active security clearance at MoD DV level – due to the nature of the client and role, we can only consider candidates who hold a British passport.
• Be willing to work full-time on client site in Farnborough

Essential Skills Required:

• Windows Server 2016+ administration.
• VMware vSphere/vCenter/VCF.
• Azure/Microsoft 365 administration.
• Linux (CentOS/RedHat/Ubuntu).
• PowerShell. EUD provisioning (Autopilot), maintenance, patching and hardening
• SSO – concepts and operation.
• Understanding of working in secure environments.
