The Role
Working within the Technology team and reporting to the Technical Manager, the Infrastructure Engineer will support and contribute to the effective operation of all RMG technical infrastructure onsite, and for connection to third party services.
Key responsibilities of the role include designing, implementing, administering and supporting infrastructure technologies, solutions and services. These can include computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, commercial-off-the-shelf software (COTS), and open-source packages and solutions. They can also include virtual and cloud computing such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS).
The successful candidate will have proven experience with Microsoft Cloud Stack, PowerShell, virtualisation technologies and associated hardware; an understanding of network topologies including wired/wireless switching, security and VLANs; and experience of Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, to both technical and non-technical audiences including third party vendor communications as part of a larger project team, and a commitment to a high level of customer service, to both internal and external customers, are essential to this role.
This is a full-time, permanent role in Band 4 - Senior Specialists. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with an additional hour to be worked as agreed upon with management.
Salary: £42,000 per annum
