Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is recruiting an experienced Commercial Manager to lead cost control, contract administration and financial performance on major infrastructure and construction projects across the UK. You will own project commercial performance, working with operational teams, clients, subcontractors and stakeholders to maximise value.

The role offers genuine responsibility, with leadership of commercial strategy, valuations, payments and final accounts, plus mentorship for junior team

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role.
• Strong knowledge of commercial management principles and contract administration.
• Experience managing projects from inception through to completion.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of cost control, forecasting and reporting.
• Experience managing subcontractor relationships and commercial agreements.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial leadership across projects.
• Manage project costs, budgets, forecasts and reporting.
• Lead valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Oversee variations, change control and contract negotiations.
• Oversee subcontract procurement, agreements and payments.
• Support project teams with commercial guidance and decision-making.
• Build relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Mentor and support junior commercial team members.
