Job summary

CAP Resourcing LTD in Glasgow is seeking an experienced IT Consultant to join on-site as the client's IT lead. You will combine hands-on technical delivery with consultancy, project work and stakeholder management.

The role involves reviewing and improving cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments, tackling technical debt, delivering infrastructure projects, and guiding IT strategy with senior stakeholders. On-site 4-5 days per week with some WFH flexibility.

Qualifications

• Proven on-site IT Manager or Senior Consultant experience.
• Strong Microsoft infrastructure knowledge: M365, Azure, AD, Windows.
• Experience with virtualization such as Hyper-V or VMware.
• Good networking knowledge - firewalls, VPNs and VLANs.
• Experience across backup/DR and hosted Exchange environments.
• Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills.
• Consultative approach translating technical issues into business outcomes.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel as needed.
• At least one Microsoft Associate-level certification (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-500, AZ-700, AZ-140, SC-300).

Are you an experienced IT Manager, Senior IT Consultant or Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys being more than just the person who fixes the problem?

We're looking for an IT Consultant to work closely with a key client, acting as their on-site IT lead and trusted technical advisor. This is a genuinely varied role where you'll combine hands-on technical expertise, consultancy, project delivery and stakeholder management.

• Identify technical debt and recommend improvements

We're looking for someone with:

• Experience with virtualisation such as Hyper-V or VMware
• Good networking knowledge - firewalls, VPNs and VLANs
• Experience across backup/DR and hosted Exchange environments
• Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills
• A consultative approach, with the ability to translate technical issues into business-focused recommendations
• A full UK driving licence
• At least one relevant Microsoft Associate-level certification, such as AZ-104, AZ-500, AZ-700, AZ-140 or SC-300

You'll need to be proactive, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership, with the communication skills to work confidently with everyone from technical teams through to senior business stakeholders.
