Technology Assurance Analyst

Astrum Search is supporting a forward-thinking research and technology (FinTech) company specializing in financial research, IT infrastructure, and machine learning.

As part of the Controls Assurance team, you will conduct reviews of critical business processes and key technology projects. Your role involves assessing key business risk areas, especially within the change portfolio, providing insights to the Board and Senior Leadership to enhance business operations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead assessments of sophisticated tech platforms, applications, and infrastructure within a trading environment.
• Collaborate with developers and engineers to understand the technical landscape and apply a risk-focused approach.
• Conduct risk evaluations and assurance work across engineering functions.
• Develop creative testing strategies to produce insightful, data-driven findings.
• Integrate data throughout the review process, from planning to reporting and follow-up.
• Present clear summaries of risk areas and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong academic background, preferably a 2:1 or higher in Computer Science or related fields.
• Good understanding of modern software development practices like Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Experience in risk, audit, or assurance roles, with a background in financial services.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments where system reliability is crucial.
• Proficiency in working with datasets and problem-solving using structured approaches.
• Knowledge of analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or Python is advantageous.
