Interim Information Security Compliance Manager

Contract | Inside IR35 | £260/day (via umbrella)

3–4 days per week | Fully Remote | Initial 3-month contract

We’re working with a well-known UK charity seeking an experienced Information Security Compliance Manager to provide hands-on support during a period of change. This is a part-time, interim role reporting into the Interim Head of Information Security, ideal for someone who can hit the ground running and balance technical delivery with team oversight.

The Role

This role is a mix of operational security, GRC, and team support. You’ll handle daily escalations from the SOC, act as a point of contact for decisions in the absence of the Head of InfoSec, and help steer the team day to day. You’ll also manage compliance responsibilities, including Cyber Essentials Plus, risk assessments, and tender security reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day team coordination and management of 1–2 team members
• Handle daily security escalations and close investigations
• Act as a decision-maker when the Head of InfoSec is unavailable
• Conduct risk assessments and complete IT security questionnaires for tenders and supplier reviews
• Manage and maintain Cyber Essentials Plus and related audit work
• Support compliance initiatives aligned to ISO 27001, GDPR, and internal policies

What We’re Looking For

• Strong GRC and operational security experience — ideally someone who has worked as a Security Lead or similar
• Hands-on experience with incident response, SOC oversight, and day-to-day decision-making
• Previous line management or team leadership experience (even in a small team)
• Confidence managing internal blockers and escalating where needed
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001, and GDPR
• Able to work independently and proactively in a remote setup

Contract Details

• Rate: ~£260/day via umbrella (Inside IR35)
• Schedule: 3–4 days per week, flexible within 10am–5pm working hours
• Duration: 3 months initially, with likely extension
• Location: Fully remote (occasional travel to Watford may be required, expenses covered)
