Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Information Governance Coordinator to support the IG team in coordinating FOI requests, Subject Access Requests and broader information governance administration. Qualifications

• Experience coordinating information requests under the FOI Act.
• Knowledge of UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
• Ability to process Subject Access Requests and other information governance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate support to ensure operational processes are followed when FOI/DP requests are received.
• Liaise with staff across the Trust to ensure legal deadlines are met.
• Work as part of the IG team to protect information exempt from disclosure as required by law.
• Assist with processing information sharing requests to enable informed decisions.
• Support exemptions review and Public Interest Test where applicable.
• Assist contributors to ensure information provided meets legal requirements.
• Build relations with other NHS Trusts to unify countywide FOI practices.
• Maintain electronic and paper FOI filing systems for public website uploads.
• Identify trends to improve future information availability.
• Compile statistical reports on requests received, response times, and complexity.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the FOI Act and related changes.
• Perform other duties as required by the IG Manager.
