Service Care Legal are recruiting an experienced Legal Officer / Information Governance Officer on a contract basis in Essex. The role is hybrid with attendance required in the office three days per week and a 3‑month term (36.25 hours per week).

The officer will manage SARs and FOI requests, review and redact documents, and provide guidance on data protection and information governance across the authority.

Formación

• Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and FOI legislation.
• Experience managing SARs, FOI and sensitive information.
• Public sector information governance experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Manage complex SARs, FOI and EIR requests with statutory deadlines.
• Review documents, assess exemptions and apply redactions.
• Advise colleagues on data protection and information governance.
• Support data breach investigations, complaints and compliance monitoring.
• Assist with policies, audits, privacy notices and staff training.
