Job summary

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is seeking an Information Governance Officer to help meet statutory obligations under GDPR, FOIA and the EIR. You will manage information requests, conduct DPIAs and investigate incidents to support risk mitigation.

The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to deliver training and guidance across the Service.

• Practical experience and knowledge of data protection and freedom of information.

Responsibilities

• Manage information requests under GDPR, FOIA and EIR.
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and assess information processing risks.
• Investigate information security incidents, identify trends, and support risk mitigation.
• Deliver training and awareness of information governance best practice across the Service.
