Information Governance Assurance Manager

Join us to apply for the Information Governance Assurance Manager role at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Digital Health provides comprehensive information technology and telecommunications services supporting operational management, performance, and service improvement. The department ensures a coherent digital strategy, secure and reliable digital services, and facilitates data sharing and collaboration internally and externally, aiming to provide first-class patient care.

We are currently implementing our largest digital programme to date: the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system, which is central to our clinical and operational transformation across Norfolk and Waveney's three acute trusts. Your role will be integral in deploying and optimizing this system securely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a specialist on Information Governance (IG), providing expert advice aligned with national and local standards and best practices.
• Develop and oversee mechanisms to monitor compliance with national IG standards and UK Data Protection laws.
• Lead assessments against the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) and other standards, reporting on performance and creating improvement plans.
• Investigate serious IG incidents or breaches, produce formal reports, and ensure lessons are integrated organization-wide.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the IG team.
• Ensure data sharing agreements and research projects comply with data protection laws, establishing appropriate protocols with partners and third parties.
• Handle employee subject access requests (SARs), advising on data disclosure and privacy compliance.
