The Infection Prevention and Control Matron at Barts Health NHS Trust will provide clinical and managerial leadership for the IPC service across allocated hospital sites, delivering a patient-focused, harm-free care approach.

Reporting to the Associate Clinical Director, IPC, the Matron will lead the IPC nursing team, drive risk assessment, surveillance and education, and work collaboratively across professional boundaries to reduce healthcare-associated infections.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with a specialist IPC qualification and significant senior IPC experience in acute healthcare.
• Evidence of leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with strong clinical decision-making.
• Experience in risk assessment, audit and outbreak management.

Responsabilités

• Provide clinical and managerial leadership for IPC across sites.
• Lead surveillance, risk assessment, audit and policy development.
• Develop and implement the Trust IPC strategy and improvements.
• Support governance with reports and assurance activities.
• Promote safe care and infection prevention standards.
