Job summary

Circle Health Group's Chelsfield Park Hospital in Kent is seeking an Infection Prevention and Control Lead on a 22.5-hour per week, permanent basis.

You will lead the hospital's IPC strategy, ensure compliance with legislation and guidance, and report to senior management. The role requires an NMC/HCPC registered professional with IPC expertise and strong leadership to drive audit, incident investigation, and improvement across services.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) or relevant healthcare professional with active NMC/HCPC registration.
• Significant experience in infection prevention and control.
• Strong knowledge of IPC legislation, national guidance, and audit standards.
• Experience in incident investigation, audit, and staff training.
• Postgraduate qualification or specialist training in IPC.
• Experience in private healthcare or multi-site organisations.

Responsibilities

• Lead on implementation and monitoring of the hospital’s IPC strategy.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and guidance (e.g. CQC, HIS, HTM 01-05, IPC standards).
• Act as primary IPC contact and provide regular reports to senior management.
• Oversee surveillance of HCAI, antibiotic resistance, and outbreaks.
• Investigate and report IPC incidents, supporting RCA and action plans.
• Carry out audits and risk assessments and drive timely improvements.
