Job summary

Acorns Children's Hospice Trust is seeking an Infection Control Practitioner to lead infection prevention across our three hospices in Walsall, Worcester and Birmingham, and to support the Care Education team with learning programmes.

You will monitor staff compliance, identify hazards, and collaborate with care teams during outbreaks, with a commitment to safeguarding and evidence of continued professional development. This role involves travel between sites in the West Midlands.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional.
• Experience in infection control and prevention.
• Evidence of continued professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist input in infection prevention and control across three hospices.
• Monitor staff compliance with infection prevention policies.
• Identify infection hazards and advise remedial action.
• Support education plan development and deliver learning to meet identified needs.
• Evaluate information and research to advise on prevention and control of infection.
• Collaborate with care teams and other agencies during outbreaks.
