Job summary

New College Swindon in the United Kingdom is seeking a Careers and Work Experience Coordinator to support Construction learners in securing high-quality placements and building links with local employers.

You'll coordinate work experience opportunities, deliver guidance sessions, monitor outcomes, and collaborate with curriculum teams to meet industry placement requirements while ensuring health and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with employers, customers or external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of learners and adults.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with construction employers to create work experience and industry placement opportunities.
• Coordinate and monitor work experience placements for Construction learners, ensuring a positive experience for both students and employers.
• Support students in finding suitable placements and preparing for the workplace.
• Deliver presentations and guidance sessions to learners on work experience and employability.
• Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to meet industry placement requirements and employer engagement objectives.
• Carry out employer visits and ensure all placements comply with health and safety, safeguarding and legislative requirements.
• Monitor placement activity and use data to track learner participation and outcomes.
• Represent the College at networking events, careers fairs and employer engagement activities.
• Contribute to the continuous development of employability initiatives across the College.
