Job summary

H9 Talent Solutions is recruiting an Engineering Test Technician for a global manufacturer of industrial and hazardous-area products, based in Bredbury, Stockport. The role involves hands-on product testing to support new designs, verify performance and help engineers identify improvements.

You will contribute to developing the capabilities of the testing laboratory and work with design, quality and manufacturing teams to investigate failures and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, product testing or a technical laboratory environment.
• Practical experience using test equipment and following technical documentation.
• Methodical approach to recording results and investigating issues.
• Good communication and IT skills with report preparation.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare products, equipment and fixtures for mechanical, electrical, environmental and performance testing.
• Carry out tests to defined procedures, recording accurate and traceable results.
• Analyse findings, identify unexpected results and produce clear technical reports.
• Work with design, quality and manufacturing teams to investigate failures and support product improvements.
• Support equipment calibration, servicing and maintenance.
• Maintain safe working practices and an organised laboratory.
• Help improve testing processes and introduce new equipment and methods.
