Job summary

Nestlé Purina in Sudbury is seeking an electrically biased Industrial Services Engineer to join a small, focused Services Team. You will ensure electrical compliance and support the operation of extrusion, elevators, conveyors and packing machinery while optimising utilities generation and distribution for the factory.

The role offers a pathway to develop within a supportive, collaborative environment, with focus on safety, quality and plant performance, and opportunities to influence capex

Qualifications

  • Minimum apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, ideally dual skilled.
  • Manage and prioritise workload in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth understanding of problem-solving methodology.
  • Ability to influence by having strong inter person skills.
  • Ability to coach across all levels and work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for ensuring optimal cost, highly efficient, quality and sustained generation and distribution of utilities for the factory operation (steam, refrigeration, water, effluent, air handling, compressed air).
  • Support move from reactive to preventative maintenance with root cause analysis and maintenance improvement plans.
  • Coach and develop the Technician group within the Industrial Services Team.
  • Provide support to the department for compliance audits.
  • Manage small projects and help develop future capex plans.

We have an exciting opportunity for an electrically biased Industrial Services Engineer, working as part of a team reporting to the Site Services Manager.

This role is integral to the team supporting our operation ensuring all electrical compliance is held, and all electrical activities are completed in accordance with business objectives and activities for product safety, quality and plant operation/performance ensuring optimum safety, operation and delivery.

The Services Team is a small but very effective team of 3 reporting to the Site Services Manager, there are regular daily checks to attend to but predominantly the rest of the work is reactive supporting the site which is currently 240 people and split over 4 different buildings mostly comprising of Extrusion, Elevators, conveyors and packing machinery.

A day in the life of a Site Services Engineer

As a Site Services Engineer, your key objective is to be responsible for ensuring optimal cost, highly efficient, quality and sustained generation and distribution of utilities for the factory operation, i.e steam, refrigeration, water and effluent treatment, hygienic air handling and compressed air etc.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the move from reactive to preventative maintenance by identifying our common recurring issues using root cause analysis and creating maintenance improvement plans
  • Coaching and development of the Technician group within the Industrial Services Team
  • Supporting and challenging your colleagues to maintain all company standards.
  • Ensuring full support to the department for compliance audits
  • Managing small projects and helping to develop future capex plans
