Job summary

Nestlé Tutbury Factory in Derbyshire is recruiting an Industrial Services Engineering Technician to support boiler operations and plant maintenance across steam, refrigeration, effluent, and coffee grounds handling. The role reports to the Industrial Services Manager and involves both proactive and reactive tasks.

The site is a leading Nestlé facility with ongoing investments and a focus on inclusion and diversity. A strong electrical bias and automation experience are valued.

Qualifications

  • Advanced apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (Electrical bias) is essential.
  • Experience in automated manufacturing/industrial service processes.
  • Good knowledge of asset maintenance.
  • Knowledge of TPM and boiler house maintenance would be desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations and maintenance at the Tutbury plant.
  • Focus on boiler operations and plant maintenance of steam, refrigeration, effluent, and coffee grounds handling.
  • Carry out daily preventative maintenance tasks.
  • React to breakdowns with urgency and safety; use SAP to capture work orders and sign off tasks.
  • Work on engineering improvement projects.

Salary: £67, 545.72 inclusive of shift allowance & contractual overtime).

Shift pattern: 3 on/3 off – 12-hour shifts – Days & Night shifts – Inclusive of all bank holidays - 42.31 hours a week.

We are recruiting for an Industrial Services Engineering Technician to join the engineering team to support with boiler operations, plant maintenance of steam, refrigeration, effluent and coffee grounds handling from a proactive and reactive perspective.

This is a permanent role, reporting directly into the Industrial Services Manager.

Nestlé Tutbury Factory in Derbyshire is one of the largest Nestlé factories in Europe after a £250 million investment over the last few years. The factory produces several of the most well-known Nescafé products in the world through freeze-dried, spray dried, pod coffee production technologies and is at the forefront of coffee production globally.

Your impact

Ultimately, you will be responsible for supporting daily operations and maintenance functions across the Tutbury manufacturing plant. This will include a focus on boiler operations, plant maintenance of steam, refrigeration, effluent and coffee grounds handling.

Your other key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out daily preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Reacting to breakdowns with a sense of urgency and safety
  • Using SAP system to capture work orders and sign off tasks.
  • Working on engineering improvement projects.

Your ingredients for success

We’re looking for an experienced engineering technician and enthusiastic person to join our team. you will need to be a flexible individual with excellent attention to detail to succeed in our fast-paced environment.

Other key attributes include:

  • Advanced apprenticeship or equivalent qualification is essential – NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum standard, ideally with an Electrical bias. HNC in similar discipline would be desirable but is not essential.
  • Previous experience working in an automated manufacturing/industrial service process
  • Good knowledge of asset maintenance
  • Knowledge of TPM
  • Knowledge of boiler house maintenance and operations would be desirable as would knowledge working with industrial refrigeration plant.
