Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited in the UK is offering a student internship at our Broughton site in North Wales. The role focuses on developing data projects and dashboards to support quality and safety across products and services.

You will gain hands-on experience within the Quality function of Airbus production systems. We welcome undergraduates who are eager to learn, collaborate in a cross-functional team, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Undergraduates only; must remain an undergraduate for the duration of the placement.
• Studying toward a degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, Digital, Data Science or equivalent degree.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Teamwork and adaptability are important for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Developing and deploying projects starting with requirements gathering from business teams.
• Exploring data sources and tool options, preparing data products, dashboard development and testing.
• Delivering changes and best practices to harmonise Quality Standards and processes.
• Supporting and potentially leading improvement projects to enhance product and processes.
• Familiarisation with Google Suite and big data tools to analyze data for non-conformance reduction.

Our Broughton-based team guarantees the traceability, quality, safety and airworthiness of all supplied, sub-contracted and manufactured products and services to both our internal and external customers for Airbus Commercial Wings. As an intern within our department, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the vital role of the Quality function in the Airbus production system as well as being responsible for delivering your own tasks/projects to ensure that our product is the best that it can possibly be.

What you will be doing:

• Developing and deploying projects starting with the gathering of requirements from business teams, exploring potential data sources and tool options, data product preparation, dashboard development and testing followed by user acceptance testing and deployment;
• Delivering changes, best practices, synergies and promoting business excellence by working with the Quality transnational teams to deploy harmonised Quality Standards and supporting processes;
• Supporting and potentially leading business improvement projects with an ultimate aim of improving our product and business processes;
• Familiarisation with digital tools including Google Suite and big data tools to analyse data in order to support non-conformance reduction.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only . Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Studying towards a degree in Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, Digital, Data Science or equivalent degree;
• Passion about Airbus and the aviation industry;
• Proficient oral and written communication skills;
• Collaborates well within a team;
• Ability to adapt quickly.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
