Job summary

Arup is offering a 10-12 month Internship in Civil Engineering, based in the United Kingdom. You will work alongside skilled professionals from day one on real projects, learning through regular sessions, site visits and leadership-led learning opportunities.

This placement is a stepping-stone to your future, with exposure to sustainable development and global collaboration. You will be aligned to civil infrastructure design, including urban transport and site infrastructure, while developing

Qualifications

• Undergraduate in Civil Engineering with Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Interest in infrastructure design, urban development and sustainable engineering.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assessment, analysis, and design activities; prepare design reports, drawings, calculations and specifications.
• Develop infrastructure designs for urban development sites, including transport, pavements, utilities and drainage.
• Collaborate with Arup colleagues across disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.
• Meet with clients and local authorities; participate in site visits and project meetings.

On this 10-12-month Internship you'll work alongside skilled professionals and from day one you will be working on real life meaningful projects - adding value to clients, while exploring challenges with curiosity and creativity. There will be regular learning sessions with our leadership team, opportunities for site visits to local projects and all kinds of social events that will support your learning and development.

In this role you will be aligned to:

• Carrying out assessment, analysis, and design, preparing design reports, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Developing infrastructure designs for development sites in the urban environment, including urban transport, site infrastructure, pavements, utilities and drainage design solutions.
• Collaborating with Arup colleagues in other disciplines.
• Meeting with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders, including site visits.

Using specialist analysis and design software such as Infodrainage, GIS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D/Bentley MicroStation, ProjectWise, ACC, Navisworks, Infraworks, Plant3D, InfoWorks, Python, and Copilot.

You will be an undergraduate in Civil Engineering with skills in Civil 3D, MicroStation.
