Company: Automation Engineering Consultancy Firm

Based: Sheffield office and various UK site work

Talentometry has partnered with an Industrial Automation Engineering Consultancy to expand their Industrial ICT team. Clients include Defence, large multinational industrial entities, and the UK Government.

The role involves travel to various UK sites (travel time paid). Key responsibilities include:

• Network Management: Design, configure, and maintain networks, including switching, routing, security, and wireless technologies. Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and optimize networks.
• Server and Client Configuration & Support: Manage servers and client systems, ensuring stability, security, and performance. Install and maintain hardware and software.
• Patch Management: Implement patch processes to keep systems secure and updated. Address vulnerabilities proactively.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement data backup solutions.
• Collaboration and Documentation: Work with teams to understand IT requirements and maintain documentation.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Use tools to track performance and generate reports.
• User Support: Provide technical support and resolve issues efficiently.

About You: Candidates should have experience supporting systems underpinning critical infrastructure, with:

• At least 5 years of practical experience.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, wireless networks.
• Experience with network security protocols.
• CISCO CCNA or equivalent certification.

Preferred/Additional Skills:

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
• SOC, SIEM, SNMP.
• Interest in IoT/OT/ICS.
• Experience with network monitoring tools.
