Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in Coalville is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our high-performing maintenance team on a busy commercial contract, supporting building services, plant rooms and site infrastructure.

You will diagnose faults, perform planned and reactive maintenance on HVAC, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, electrical systems and low-voltage equipment, while ensuring safety and statutory compliance.

Qualifications

• Recognised or time-served apprenticeship.
• Strong manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
• Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds 236 Parts 1-2 or equivalent (17th Edition).
• Mechanical qualifications to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2.
• Ability to fault-find across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with 3-phase motors, drives and inverters.
• PLC diagnostic or repair capabilities (advantageous).
• Confident supervising contractors and managing safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across building services, plant rooms and site infrastructure.
• Maintain core FM systems including HVAC, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, lighting, emergency lighting, small power and general electrical systems.
• Complete routine statutory and compliance checks, ensuring all work is delivered safely and in line with site procedures.
• Respond to building-services faults, diagnose issues quickly and complete first-time fixes where possible.
• Support minor plumbing, heating, ventilation, drainage and fabric maintenance tasks as required.
• Work safely on low-voltage electrical systems, carrying out basic fault-finding, isolations and repairs within competence.
• Use CAFM systems and mobile devices to receive, update and close planned and reactive tasks accurately.
• Liaise with the client, site teams and contractors to resolve maintenance issues and maintain a high standard of service delivery.
• Support permit-to-work processes, risk assessments, method statements and contractor supervision where required.
• Act as a responsible and visible member of the engineering team, supporting wider FM operations and deputising for the Shift Leader when needed.
