Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a qualified Electrician for a permanent, full-time role based in Peterborough. You will work on national MOD contracts across Eastern England, delivering electrical installations, maintenance and testing on commercial, industrial, and defence environments.

The package includes a salary of £45,000 per annum, 25 days' annual leave, a pension scheme and opportunities for professional development within a growing company that values safety and quality.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance, or an equivalent qualification.
• Completion of a recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent training.
• AM2 qualification.
• City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification (highly desirable).
• A valid ECS Card.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations, maintenance and testing.
• Strong knowledge of BS 7671 regulations and electrical safety procedures.
• The ability to work independently and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Eligibility to obtain full MOD Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

• Carrying out electrical installations, planned maintenance and testing in accordance with BS 7671 regulations.
• Completing LV Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), emergency lighting testing and PAT testing.
• Commissioning and testing electrical systems, ensuring accurate certification and documentation.
• Diagnosing electrical faults and completing remedial works safely and efficiently.
• Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to plan and deliver electrical works.
• Managing materials, equipment and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed to a high standard.
• Delivering small electrical installation projects across commercial and industrial environments.
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to coordinate works effectively.
• Supporting apprentices and trainees where required.
• Completing electrical worksheets, reports and certificates using Microsoft Office 365.
