Electrical & Controls Technician - Mars Petcare

Location: Melton Mowbray

Salary: £51,900 - £56,000 (including shift allowances, DOE)

Shift pattern: 12 Hours - 7-7, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, test, and modify automated and electromechanical equipment, applying transferable skills from related technical roles.
• Apply engineering principles‑drawing on both mechanical and electrical knowledge‑to resolve production issues and enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Develop, track, and communicate maintenance metrics to identify, reduce, and eliminate recurring equipment issues, contributing to improved system reliability.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (such as Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen), bringing fresh perspectives from previous roles or industries.
• Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis on major breakdowns and recurring problems, using analytical skills and experience from any technical problem‑solving environment.
