Job summary

RecruitMe is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician for a permanent role in an Stoke-on-Trent industrial plant. You will perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance across LV systems, motors, control wiring and PLC/DCS equipment.

Candidates should have City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and practical industrial maintenance experience. Overtime may be available and long-term stability is offered.

Qualifications

• Qualified to City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience performing practical industrial electrical maintenance.
• Able to fault-find electrical faults and rectify defects.
• Experience with motors over 15kVA and electronics in control wiring.
• Able to read and interpret electrical/technical drawings.
• Familiarity with PLC/DCS control wiring and related wiring practices.
• 18th Edition knowledge is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Maintain and test LV electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults and repair defects across plant electrical systems.
• Work on motors, control wiring and PLC/DCS-connected equipment.
• Trace circuits and cables; assist in planned outages and maintenance windows.
• Respond to breakdowns and plant emergencies in a safe, compliant manner.
• Read technical drawings and complete maintenance records.
• Support other maintenance and operations staff as required.

Job description

Are you an experienced Industrial Electrician, Maintenance Electrician or Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking for a stable, permanent role in a Stoke On Trent industrial plant, carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across LV systems, motors, control wiring and process equipment.

The role offers a strong basic salary, overtime potential and long-term stability.

The Role

• Planned and reactive electrical maintenance
• Maintaining and testing LV electrical systems
• Electrical fault finding and defect rectification
• Working on motors, control wiring and PLC / DCS-connected equipment
• Circuit and cable tracing
• Supporting planned outages and plant maintenance
• Responding to breakdowns and plant emergencies
• Working safely within Permit-to-Work procedures
• Reading technical drawings and completing maintenance records
• Supporting other maintenance and operations personnel as required

What We're Looking For

• City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering, C&G 5357 apprenticeship or equivalent
• Practical industrial electrical maintenance experience
• Experience with motors over 15kVA
• Electrical fault-finding experience
• Control wiring experience
• Ability to read electrical / technical drawings
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to breakdowns
• Experience with PLC/DCS control wiring,18th Edition, confined spaces, MEWP, forklift, rigging/slinging or HV operational safety would be advantageous but is not essential.
