Qualifications

• Time served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent recognised electrical qualification in an industrial maintenance environment.
• Strong electrical fault finding capability across 110V, 240V and 415V systems on motors, control panels and starters.
• Able to interpret electrical drawings and use them to diagnose faults and carry out maintenance.
• Commitment to safe working practices with permit to work; HV experience up to 33kV is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and electrical inspections across plant and equipment, resolving defects before they impact operations.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns with fault diagnosis and repairs to support high plant availability.
• Diagnose faults within control panels, motor circuits, starters and associated systems from drawings and docs.
• Install, replace and modify cabling using containment systems across industrial applications.
• Collaborate with operations teams, contractors and maintenance staff during outages and major projects.

Altera Recruitment Group is working on behalf of an established organisation within the energy and waste management sector to recruit an Industrial Maintenance Electrician for its Stoke on Trent operation.

This is a hands on electrical maintenance position within a complex industrial plant, where you will play an important role in maintaining the reliability, safety and availability of electrical systems and equipment. The role will suit a qualified electrician with strong industrial maintenance experience who is confident fault finding, carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, and working independently within a safety critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and electrical inspections across plant and equipment, identifying and resolving defects before they impact operations.
• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, carrying out effective fault diagnosis and repairs to support high levels of plant availability.
• Diagnose faults within control panels, motor circuits, starters and associated electrical systems, working from electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Install, replace and modify electrical cabling using appropriate containment systems, including tray, trunking and conduit, across a range of industrial applications.
• Work collaboratively with operations teams, contractors and other maintenance personnel, including supporting planned outages and larger maintenance projects.

Candidate Requirements

• Time served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent recognised electrical qualification, with previous experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
• Strong electrical fault finding capability, with practical experience working on motors, control panels, starters and associated equipment across 110V, 240V and 415V systems.
• Able to confidently interpret electrical and technical drawings and use them to diagnose faults and complete maintenance activities.
• Comfortable working independently and responding effectively to breakdowns, changing priorities and time critical maintenance requirements.
• A strong commitment to safe working practices, with experience of permit to work systems and industrial environments. Experience with HV systems up to 33kV, working at height or MEWP operation would be advantageous.
