Job summary
Prime Appointments is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician in Ipswich, Suffolk. The role focuses on hands-on work with heavy industrial equipment, plant maintenance, and electrical installations within an established engineering business.
You will contribute to panel building, control systems, and overhead crane maintenance, with qualifications supported by an apprenticeship or City & Guilds. A varied schedule and overtime are provided.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an electrically biased engineering role.
- Experience wiring machinery.
- Relevant apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualification advantageous.
- Basic hydraulic knowledge beneficial.
- Experience with panel building or plant maintenance is desirable.
- Background in automotive or plant electrics also considered.
Responsibilities
- Work with heavy industrial equipment and machinery.
- Maintain and service plant equipment, including FLTs and PAT testing.
- Work on industrial electrical installations.
- Assist with panel building and control systems where required.
- Support maintenance and repair of overhead cranes.
- Work with 24v DC control circuits and solenoid valves.
