Job summary

Calder Industrial Materials is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance and Engineering Team in Winsford. You will diagnose electrical/control faults on PLC-driven equipment, troubleshoot Mitsubishi GX Works and Siemens TIA Portal systems, and support hydraulic routines with a strong emphasis on safety and documentation.

The role requires robust troubleshooting, a hands-on approach, and the ability to work across shifts with clear handovers.

Qualifications

• Industrial electrical fundamentals including 3‑phase motors, protection and control circuits.
• Proven troubleshooting on PLC-controlled machines (Mitsubishi GX Works, Siemens TIA Portal preferred).
• Ability to read/update electrical schematics and maintain documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical/control faults to restore production.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery: I/O, sequences, alarms and comms.
• Support and fault-find drives (VFD/servo) and hydraulic systems; conduct tests.
• Maintain compliance: LOTO/isolation, guarding/interlocks, and proving tests.
• Deliver RCA/CI and implement preventive actions to reduce stops and scrap.
• Maintain change control: PLC backups and up-to-date drawings.
