Job summary

Haughey Recruitment in Dungannon is seeking a highly analytical Technical Estimator & Cost Analyst to calculate accurate pricing and quotations for manufacturing projects.

You will review technical specs, BOMs and engineering drawings, produce cost estimates for materials, labour and overhead, and update pricing models.

You will also track project costs, identify deviations from estimates, and provide management with insights to improve profitability and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator, Cost Analyst, or similar role in industrial manufacturing or machinery production.
• Strong understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and job-shop costing principles.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a commercial mindset.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyse technical specifications, customer discussions, and engineering drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Calculate material, labour, and overhead costs required for manufacturing projects.
• Work with management and engineering teams to understand scope and requirements before pricing.
• Maintain and update pricing models and databases for raw materials, components, and labour rates.
• Monitor costs to ensure alignment with initial estimates and allocate every cost to the correct project.
• Collaborate with shop floor and procurement teams to capture variations or additional costs.
• Conduct post-job analyses by comparing final actual costs against original estimates and report discrepancies.
• Provide actionable feedback to management to improve production efficiency and pricing strategies.
