Job summary

Ambition is looking for an experienced Indirect Tax professional to join its growing VAT team. You will advise across a diverse portfolio of clients, from entrepreneurial businesses to large multinationals, on UK and international VAT matters.

This role offers exposure to complex advisory work, close collaboration with senior tax professionals, and the chance to develop leadership and business development skills while mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• CTA qualification or equivalent indirect tax expertise.
• Approximately 7–10 years' VAT experience gained in practice, industry, or a combination of both.
• Strong UK VAT technical knowledge.
• The ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and effectively.
• Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach.
• Experience building relationships with stakeholders across different service lines.
• An interest in developing business development and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing VAT advisory services to a varied client base across multiple industries.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser.
• Identifying key technical issues and delivering practical, commercially focused solutions.
• Working closely with colleagues across tax, accounting and advisory teams.
• Supporting business development initiatives and helping grow the indirect tax offering.
• Mentoring and developing junior members of the team.
• Managing multiple assignments and ensuring a high standard of client service.
