Job summary

Broadgate in Manchester is seeking a Senior Indirect Tax Manager to lead a varied VAT/Indirect Tax portfolio, manage client relationships, and deliver compliance and advisory work across sectors from our Manchester office.

The role offers hybrid working, leadership duties mentoring junior staff, involvement in business development, and a clear progression path toward Director level as the practice grows.

Qualifications

• CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (or qualified by experience with strong technical grounding).
• Significant VAT/Indirect Tax experience at Manager level or above, ideally in practice.
• Track record of managing your own portfolio and senior client relationships directly.
• Experience leading, reviewing and developing more junior team members.
• Interest in business development and contributing to firm growth.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a varied and complex VAT/Indirect Tax portfolio and lead on compliance and advisory work.
• Be the senior point of contact for clients and develop relationships beyond routine returns.
• Mentor and develop Managers and junior staff, and help shape the wider practice.
• Involve yourself in business development and firm-wide strategy.

Senior Indirect Tax Manager | Manchester | Hybrid

I'm working on a brilliant opportunity for a Senior Indirect Tax Manager to join a genuinely ambitious and growing firm in Manchester.

If you're an experienced VAT/Indirect Tax professional looking for a senior role where your voice is heard, your career is actively planned out for you, and you can genuinely shape how the team develops,

You'll take ownership of a varied and complex portfolio of clients, leading on VAT and wider indirect tax compliance and advisory work across a range of sectors. You'll be the senior point of contact for your clients, building relationships that go well beyond a transactional tax return, and leading on more technically challenging advisory work as it arises. There's real scope to get stuck into international VAT, customs duty and cross-border matters too, depending on your background and interests. You'll play a genuine leadership role in the team - reviewing and developing the work of Managers and more junior staff, mentoring them technically, and helping shape how the wider practice grows. There's real appetite from the business to involve you in business development and firm-wide strategy as you settle in, rather than keeping you purely delivery-focused.
