The Director will:
- Lead indirect tax matters and report to senior tax leadership.
- Manage UK VAT returns for a complex VAT group.
- Provide VAT guidance on UK and international compliance, governance, and disputes.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams on indirect tax queries.
- Support the Tax team with indirect tax awareness and cross-tax solutions.
- Advise on VAT aspects of financial transformation projects like ERP systems.
- Review and recommend edits to legal agreements.
- Coordinate with external advisors across jurisdictions.
- Monitor tax regulation changes and assess business impacts.
- Assist with global merger and acquisition projects when needed.
The desired candidate will have:
- Extensive experience spanning over a decade in UK taxation, preferably within a top-tier public accounting firm or a prominent multinational enterprise. Direct exposure to in-house operations at a leading MNE is an added advantage.
- Deep expertise in UK and global indirect tax frameworks, coupled with insight into how they affect VAT compliance and reporting workflows.
- Familiarity with financial transformation initiatives or implementing tax technology solutions is beneficial, but not obligatory.
- Strong command of Excel and Word, utilising these tools for efficient tax and financial tasks.
- Outstanding communication skills-both written and spoken-with a proven track record of explaining complex indirect tax matters to senior leadership.
- Analytical prowess, able to interpret data effectively and propose actionable solutions.
- Exceptional team collaboration abilities, working seamlessly with colleagues and external collaborators.
