Job summary

The University of Greenwich is seeking a Research Fellow specialising in Indigenous Peoples’ data governance. You will lead interdisciplinary research within the IP-STATS project, partnering with Indigenous organisations and communities to advance data sovereignty and Indigenous-led quantitative methods.

Based in the NRI, you will collaborate across cultures and knowledge traditions, supporting fieldwork, governance reviews and toolkit dissemination to Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Peru, Nepal,

Qualifications

• Long‑term lived experience with Indigenous Peoples’ cultures, rights, priorities and contemporary issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively, respectfully and inclusively with Indigenous communities.
• Experience of collaborative research across cultures and knowledge traditions.
• Candidates who self-identify as Indigenous are particularly encouraged to apply.

• Methods and governance arrangements.
• Reviewing data-governance frameworks and statistical systems.
• Supporting culturally respectful fieldwork and partner engagement.
