Job summary

WithYou is recruiting an Independent Prescriber to join our Bournemouth Drug and Alcohol Service. You will assess, diagnose and manage care in a community setting, providing harm reduction information and advising the broader team on health care needs of clients. Successful applicants will hold the required prescriber credentials and registrations.

The role requires CPD, experience in community nursing or pharmacy and a commitment to high-quality recovery care for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered Nurse (NMC) or Pharmacist (GPhC).
• Successful completion of supplementary/independent prescriber course.

Responsibilities

• Carry out clinical assessment, diagnosis and management in line with regulations.
• Provide harm reduction information and advice on substance misuse.
• Advise non-clinical team members on health care needs of clients.
• Manage substitute prescribing in liaison with pharmacists and central prescribing doctors.
• Test for substance use and feedback results to individuals/services.
