Job summary

We Are With You Bournemouth Drug and Alcohol service is recruiting an experienced Independent Prescriber to provide high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. If you are a registered Nurse or a Registered Pharmacist who thrives working in a community setting, this could be the role for you.

Please note that you must have completed the supplementary/independent prescriber course and hold an appropriate entry on the NMC or GPhC register to be considered for this position.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Registered Pharmacist (GPhC).
• Completed supplementary/independent prescriber course and NMC/GPhC entry.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD and professional development.
• Experience delivering nursing interventions in a community setting.
• Experience with healthcare assessments, care planning and key working.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Passionate, engaging approach to clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Carry out clinical assessment, diagnosis and management.
• Provide harm reduction information and advice to individuals relating to substance misuse.
• Advise non-clinical team members on healthcare needs of clients.
• Provide assessment and ongoing management of substitute prescribing with pharmacists and central prescribing doctors.
• Test for substance use and feedback results to individuals and services.
