Wandsworth Council, as the Administering Authority for the Wandsworth Pension Fund, is seeking to appoint an Independent Person to provide independent scrutiny and objective challenge at board level. This is a non-voting contract appointment, arranged either as an individual or through a limited or umbrella company, and is subject to IR35 requirements.

The initial three-year term requires in-person attendance at meetings in London, with remuneration reflecting responsibilities and market norms.

Qualifications

• PMI qualification or APPT accreditation.
• Extensive LGPS knowledge or governance experience.
• Ability to provide independent, evidence-based challenge.

Responsabilités

• Attend Pension Committee meetings and governance activities.
• Review papers and prepare in advance of meetings.
• Provide independent oversight on governance, investments, admin and risk.
• Scrutinise adviser and provider recommendations (London CIV).
• Support development and review of Fund strategies and policies.
• Ensure governance remains effective and transparent.
