Job summary

The London Borough of Brent invites applications for an Independent Person to provide independent expertise, scrutiny and constructive challenge across investment, governance and administration of the Brent Pension Fund. You will work closely with the Pension Fund Sub-Committee, Pension Board and advisers to support effective governance and LGPS reform responses.

The role is advisory and non-voting with no delegated decision-making authority.

Qualifications

• Significant pensions experience or relevant professional qualifications or accreditation.
• Experience in LGPS or pension fund governance.
• Ability to analyse investment, funding, governance and administration matters.
• Strong communication with members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent professional expertise, scrutiny and constructive challenge across investment, governance and administration.
• Support effective governance, regulatory compliance and responses to LGPS reforms.
• Advise Pension Fund Sub-Committee and Pension Board on strategy and risk.
