Job summary

NYAS is seeking Self-Employed Independent Parent Advocates to provide confidential advocacy for parents of children on protection plans and looked-after children under 18 in Lewisham. You will carry your own caseload and help parents engage with social services and other agencies to secure positive outcomes.

Applicants must have substantial direct work with families and reside in or near Lewisham. Training, safeguarding, and compliance requirements are part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Significant experience working directly with parents and families.
• Must be self-employed and able to manage a caseload.
• Commitment to safeguarding and equal opportunities in service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent, confidential advocacy to parents on child protection matters.
• Support parents to engage with professionals from third sector and statutory bodies.
• Assist parents in using policies and complaints procedures and provide information and advice.
• Attend accredited advocacy training and complete safeguarding and compliance requirements.
