Job summary

Optalis Limited is recruiting Learning Disability Support Workers to join our Maidenhead teams. The role involves supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and other disabilities in their daily lives, in community-based settings and at local services.

Roles vary by location and include full-time, part-time and fixed-term contracts. A UK driving licence is required for roles marked with (D) to enable transportation of people we support.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people with learning disabilities or autism.
• Experience of working in a residential care setting and supporting with daily living tasks.
• Willingness to undertake Care Certificate and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to people in accordance with care plans.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of the people supported.
• Assist with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting).
• Assist with meal preparation and shopping as needed.
• Support people to get out and about, attend appointments and social activities.
• Report changes in health and behaviour to the team.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, colleagues and professionals.
