Job summary

Pearson is seeking Independent End-point Assessors for Early Years Practitioner Level 2 and Early Years Educator Level 3 in the Rochdale/Manc​hester area. The role involves on-site EPA assessments with employers, ensuring consistent grading against apprenticeship standards.

Applicants must be competent in early years education, hold or be working towards assessor qualifications, and have a valid DBS. Travel to employer locations is required.

Qualifications

• Be occupationally competent in the early years educator sector.
• Hold or be working towards the required level of this standard.
• Hold or be working towards an assessor qualification (A1/TAQA).
• Hold a basic DBS with update service.
• Experience leading meetings/structured interviews.
• Experience with quality assurance/regulatory requirements.
• Commit to CPD in line with apprenticeship requirements.
• Willing to travel to employer locations for face-to-face assessments.
• Minimum two working days per week dedicated to EPA.

Responsibilities

• Take part in regular training and standardisation activities.
• Maintain evidence of ongoing CPD.
• Assess candidates according to published criteria and procedures.
• Follow Pearson’s assessment materials and QA protocols.
• Maintain service-level agreements for EPA planning and reporting.
• Report risks or malpractice and ensure high-quality EPA records.
• Support Pearson with appeals related to assessment decisions.
• Raise conflicts of interest where applicable.
• Ensure timely completion of personal actions and tasks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of EPA activities.
• Contribute to OFQUAL external quality assurance activities.
