Cheshire West and Chester Council seeks two Independent Domestic Violence and Abuse Advisers (IDVAs) to join their Domestic Abuse Team. This hybrid role involves supporting high-risk individuals and working collaboratively with various agencies to ensure safety and recovery from domestic abuse.
Through the development of a trusting relationship, provide specialist support for people harmed by domestic abuse. Support them to become safe and rebuild their lives free from domestic abuse. This includes representing their voice, helping them navigate the criminal justice process, and working with statutory agencies to provide wraparound support.
We are seeking two IDVAs to join the Domestic Abuse Team at Cheshire West and Chester Council. There is one full-time IDVA position, initially on a 12-month contract with potential for extension.
As an IDVA, you will work with high-risk individuals, providing front door duty functions, 1-1 support, and group sessions.
Our vision is for all residents of west Cheshire to live free from domestic abuse. We aim to improve health and wellbeing by creating an environment that encourages disclosure and recovery, aligned with our Domestic Abuse Strategy.
If you have an IDVA qualification or relevant experience and are passionate about supporting others, this could be the perfect role for you.
We value team players who can respond swiftly to high-risk situations and meet service users’ needs. Experience in a similar role or supporting vulnerable people is preferred but not essential.

This is a hybrid role involving working from home, community engagement, and from our office at Wyvern House, Winsford. The team operates across Cheshire West and Chester with a flexible, mobile approach to work.
