Job Overview

Neurophysiology is seeking a qualified clinical scientist or physiologist to join the team. Based at the Birmingham Treatment Centre (BTC), we also provide inpatient Neurophysiology diagnostic services at the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), scheduled to open in October 2024.

Qualifications and Training

• Relevant Neurophysiology degree
• Ideally, ANS professional exams
• Applications encouraged from year 3 STP students seeking employment in Birmingham
• Training and assessment in nerve conduction studies available in-house for BSc Healthcare Science (Neurophysiology) graduates or support for further academic study

Key Responsibilities

• Perform various neurophysiology diagnostic tests including EEG modalities such as sleep, ambulatory, and portable EEG
• Conduct independent nerve conduction clinics
• Contribute to the daily operation of the service and support areas of particular interest
• Train junior team members and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in quality assurance, audit, and research activities
• Work collaboratively with team members, rotating between BTC and MMUH approximately 4:1
• Participate in an out-of-hours EEG on-call rota

Additional Information

Supervision of junior staff is expected. The role involves a commitment to service quality and continuous professional development.
