Job summary

Ad Warrior Ltd in Solihull is seeking a Rehabilitation/Support Buddy to help Luke, a young man in his early 20s with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and learning difficulties, enjoy his passions like gym, cars and cooking, while staying safe and independent. You will take Luke to activities, encourage him to be active, and join in driving-based outings.

Previous care experience is helpful but not required, as full training is provided, plus you must have a full UK driving licence and own car.

Qualifications

• Candidates should hold a full UK driving licence, have their own car.
• Experience in care is beneficial but not essential; full training will be given.

Responsibilities

• Take Luke to his activities (track days, disabled cycling club and go-karting) and plan varied activities.
• Encourage and support Luke to be active (gym, swimming) and join in with his interests.
• Engage in Luke's hobbies (cars, car shows) and help with cooking healthy meals.
• Supervise Luke when out and about, including walking or wheelchair use.
• Accompany Luke on days out, short breaks and holidays abroad.
• Maintain Luke's privacy and professional boundaries within the family home.
• Assist with personal care including toileting, showering and dressing; manage daily medications with full training.
