Oxfam in Newcastle is seeking an Income Assistant (Trainee Accountant) to support the daily processing of income transactions within the Finance team. You will assist in accurate recording, workflow controls and provide supervision for volunteers, developing accounting knowledge in a purpose-driven charity.

The role suits detail-oriented individuals with strong numeracy and IT skills who are keen to learn accounting practice and contribute to Oxfam's mission to end poverty.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail.
• Numerate and able to handle numbers accurately.
• Ability to communicate clearly.
• Good planning and organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Tenacity to ensure resolution of issues.
• Able to demonstrate initiative, e.g. through identifying process improvement, and showing flexibility.
• Good IT skills, especially spreadsheets.

Responsabilités

• Support day-to-day income processing activities across designated areas of the Income team.
• Assist in data entry, reconciliation and maintenance of income records.
• Provide training and day-to-day supervision to volunteers within the team.
• Collaborate with Finance colleagues to ensure procedures are followed and records are accurate.
