Job summary

Southampton City Council is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join Tanners Brook Primary School. You will support children, including those with SEND, under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCO, helping them access the curriculum and participate in learning activities.

The role emphasises inclusion, high expectations, and constructive feedback to staff, with additional duties on the lunchtime Play Team to support outdoor play and learning (OPAL).

Qualifications

• Work with the SENDCO and class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of students across The Early Years, Key Stages 1 and 2
• Promote student independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
• Give support to children, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
• Be part of lunchtime Play Team, supporting outdoor play and learning (OPAL)
